CM Chandrababu Meets Prime Minister Modi; Focus on Google Partnership

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday evening during his two-day visit to the national capital. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the State and Central Governments and seeking support for key developmental initiatives in Andhra Pradesh.

During the meeting, Naidu invited the Prime Minister to attend two major state events — the “Super GST – Super Savings” programme to be held in Kurnool, and the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, scheduled for November 14–15.

The discussions between the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister have not yet been detailed publicly. The meeting was confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through a single sentence official press release and a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The PMO stated:

“The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today in New Delhi.”

Google MoU and Investment Plans

As part of his Delhi visit, the Andhra Pradesh government is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google on October 14 at Hotel Taj Mansingh. The agreement is expected to promote digital infrastructure and data centre investments in the state.

The technology pact is centered around a hyper-scale data centre campus in Visakhapatnam (a 1 GW facility), seen as a flagship digital infrastructure project to strengthen AP’s role as a tech hub.

Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Ashwini Vaishnaw are likely to attend the signing ceremony, underscoring the Centre’s participation in advancing technology-driven projects in Andhra Pradesh.

Broader Context

The meeting comes at a time when the state is actively pursuing national and international partnerships to boost industrial growth, employment, and digital transformation. Naidu’s visit is seen as part of his broader efforts to attract investments and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position in emerging sectors such as technology, manufacturing, and logistics.

Further announcements are expected following the Google MoU signing on Tuesday.
