Chandrababu Pledges Annual DSC Notifications for Teacher Recruitment

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state government will issue District Selection Committee (DSC) notifications annually to fill all teacher vacancies. Naidu, alongside IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, distributed appointment letters to 15,941 newly recruited teachers under the Mega DSC-2025 at a public meeting in Amaravati on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, Naidu emphasized a fair and efficient recruitment process, stating, “We have ensured a transparent system for teacher appointments.” He noted that the Mega DSC-2025, filling 15,941 posts, was completed swiftly despite over 100 legal challenges from the opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), which failed to secure any stays.

Naidu recalled that his first act after assuming office in June 2024 was signing the Mega DSC file, fulfilling an election promise to prioritize teacher recruitment. The notification for 16,347 posts was issued on April 20, 2025, with exams conducted from June 6 to July 6. Audited by third-party agencies, the process was hailed as a model of transparency.

Naidu praised Lokesh, the HRD Minister, and his team for overcoming numerous challenges to successfully conduct the DSC, ensuring efficiency and fairness.

Criticizing the previous YSRCP government for not conducting a single DSC during its five-year tenure, Naidu highlighted that his earlier TDP government had filled 80% of teacher vacancies. He reaffirmed his vision of creating 20 lakh jobs by 2029 through ₹10 lakh crore in investments, with education as a cornerstone.

Naidu said the annual DSC notifications will address teacher shortages and support educational reforms, adding, “This reflects our government’s commitment to strengthen education and make Andhra Pradesh a knowledge economy.”
